Makhdoom Tariq appointed SAPM on Overseas Pakistanis, Human Development


 LONDON: Makhdoom Syed Tariq Mahmood-ul-Hasan has been appointed as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Development by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The Cabinet Division, in a notification issued in this regard, confirmed the appointment of the British-Pakistani businessman and politician.

The notification said: "Prime Minister Imran Khan, with reference to Rule Four of the Trade Rules 1973, is pleased to appoint Syed Tariq Mahmood-ul-Hasan as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development "

On Thursday, before the formal announcement of the appointment, PM Khan met Mahmood-ul-Hasan at the PM House. Mahmood-ul-Hasan thanked the Prime Minister for expressing confidence in him to serve foreign Pakistanis.

He said that foreign Pakistanis face a lot of issues and he will use his new position to work towards resolving these issues, as per the vision of PM Imran Khan, who has always worked for foreign Pakistanis. Spoke for rights.

“I am grateful to PM Imran Khan and I am really humbled by the decision he has taken to appoint me as [his] special assistant. I will work with dedication to live up to the expectations of PM Imran Khan. It is a job of great honor and at the same time, with it comes a lot of responsibility”, he said.

Mahmood-ul-Hasan said that PM Imran Khan values ​​millions of foreign Pakistanis and appreciates their contributions like no one else has because they have spent a lot of time abroad and he understands that foreign residents of Pakistan and their How do you feel about the problems you face?

He further added: "The Prime Minister asked me to look after the welfare of the overseas Pakistanis, address their genuine grievances, protect them from land grabbing and other similar threats, facilitate their investments, remove barriers and policy Decision based on suggestions received from overseas Pakistanis. I will try my best to work towards realizing the dream of PM Imran Khan."

Four months ago, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar appointed Mahmud-ul-Hasan as the Deputy Chairman of the Punjab Migrant Commission.

A notification from Buzdar's office said that Wasim Akhtar Rame, who served as the vice-president for three years, had been released. Both Akhtar and Mehmood-ul-Hasan are British citizens.

Mahmood-ul-Hasan is an acclaimed author, philanthropist and legal expert. He holds a business degree as well as a master's degree in law from Northampton University, UK.

He is the UK President of the World Congress of Overseas Pakistanis (WCOP).

Mahmood-ul-Hasan is the winner of Brian Tracy Award of Excellence in 2019 and Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2020. He is also the founding chairman of Ali Jamaam Trust UK & Pakistan, a charity established in his memory. Two children who died in a road accident and dedicated to the upliftment of underprivileged and destitute children in Pakistan.
