Vatican City: Pope Francis said on Sunday he was following rising tensions in Ukraine "with concern", and called for a day of prayer for peace next week.
After his Sunday Angelus prayer at St Peter's Square, he said, "I follow with concern the rising tension that threatens to deal a new blow to the peace in Ukraine, and questions the security of the European continent, and With even wider repercussions."
