PSL-7: Islamabad United players pass COVID-19 test

 


ISLAMABAD: All Islamabad United players, who checked into the hotel on January 20, have tested negative for COVID-19 ahead of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League that begins on January 27.

Islamabad United said in a statement that all these players have now officially joined the bio-secure bubble.

The PSL franchise said players who check-in later, after their second negative test, will join the bubble after the completion of their three-day isolation.

Islamabad United said that while the entire squad's isolation period is expected to end today, they will hold their first practice session for the league tomorrow. However, details in this regard will be shared tonight, United said.

Shadab confident that Islamabad United will win the PSL trophy

Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan is confident of lifting the PSL trophy for the third time as his team prepares for the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League.

In a statement sent to Jio on December 30, Shadab had said that Islamabad United will continue to follow the same approach that it has followed in the past - the method of data and evidence.

“Islamabad United has a way, a method based on evidence and data, we believe that if you follow this method, the results will eventually come. We will do our best this season to win our third PSL trophy. Will try to give stamina."

"Our plans are in place and as always, they are flexible," he had said.
