KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has called on the provincial government to conduct a transparent and fair investigation into the recent incident of Tando Allahyar to further intensify the ethnic divide in the province.
Speaking at a press conference at the Governor's House on Monday, Imran Ismail said that there was increasing chaos in the province, adding that the recent tragedy in Tando Allahyar district was being viewed by the quarters concerned as a casteist approach. He claimed that the farmers and farmers in the country are with the federal government, as it was completely unfair on the part of the Pakistan Peoples Party to organize a tractor (kisan) march in Sindh. He said the PPP's agitation plan against the federal government lacked clarity.
Governor Sindh said that sheer injustice is being done to the residents of Sindh, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan is doing his best to ensure the availability of the ration waiver scheme for the underprivileged residents of the province. In response to a question, the Governor told the media persons that the central government has started work on the K-IV project for Karachi. To another question, he replied that the MQM-P needed the support of the federal government as much as the federal government needed the support of its allies, saying that the allies were duly consulted on governance-related matters. it was done.
Imran Ismail said that it appears that the Sindh government has deliberately delayed the release of wheat from the stock in the province to gain political mileage. He said up to 400,000 tonnes of wheat was available in government-managed storage facilities in Sindh. He said that if Sindh government is facing shortage of wheat then it should have written to the federal government on the issue as wheat stock could have been released by POSCO (Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation) within 48 hours. .
The Sindh governor said inflation was a global phenomenon in the post-pandemic world as the issue of price rise was less serious in Pakistan than in Europe, the US and India. He said that the issue of price rise in Pakistan due to artificially created factors has increased as Prime Minister Imran Khan is trying his best to address the issue.
