 The Boulder Film Festival is being called by fans on Twitter to include Alec Baldwin as the first special guest programmer on the show.

The 63-year-old actor, who accidentally shot to death cinematographer Halina Hutchins during the shooting of Rust in October 2021, opened up on his return to the event.

"I'm very excited to return to the Boulder International Film Festival, which I last attended in 2010."

"I think Boulder is a great city and I know they have an amazing festival," Baldwin said in a statement.

However, netizens seemed unhappy with the actor's upcoming appearance at the festival.

Festival director Cathy Beek also expressed her happiness over Baldwin joining the board.

As The Hollywood Reporter reports, "We're honored to have Alec take on this pivotal role this year and share some of his favorite movies with the BIFF."
