Prince William and Kate Middleton received heavy criticism for their eight-day tour of the Caribbean
Prince William and Kate Middleton have revealed they have spent a whopping £226,000 on their controversial tour of the Caribbean.
The Duke and Duchess received heavy criticism for their eight-day visit to Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas in March to display a 'huge colonial undertaking'.
The couple was also pictured traveling in an open-top Land Rover that was manned by Jamaican soldiers.
However, royal fans suggested that it "looked like a scene from The Crown".
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that the royal family spent a total of £102.4 million in the last financial year, up 17 percent from the previous year.
Much of the expenditure was spent on a major ten-year program of the ongoing renovation of Buckingham Palace.
It was reported that around £54.6 million – a 41 per cent increase in expenses, had been snuffed out by the renovation alone.
The Sovereign Grant report showed a rise in travel costs for the Royal Family from £1.3m to £4.5m as in-person royal visits resumed after the pandemic.
