156 open manholes covered in Faisalabad

 Faisalabad: Around 156 open manholes have been covered by various departments during the last one week. A meeting was held here on Sunday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ali Shahzad. It was informed in the meeting that speed bumps have also been installed outside the schools on the main roads and 886 street lights have been commissioned by the Municipal Corporation and Municipal Committees. It was informed in the meeting that survey of old bridges was done and one was repaired and 38 blocked drains and 83 sewer lines were cleaned after cleaning on public complaints. Faisalabad Waste Management Company picked up 8,838 tonnes of garbage from streets and roads. The committee was apprised that the buildings of nine public transport companies have been whitewashed.
