Jhelum: Information and Broadcasting Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said on Saturday that Maryam Nawaz and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari do not have the political stature to become national leaders as the country cannot be handed over to political novices.
Talking to the media here, the minister advised him to contest the election of mayor first. He said that political novices should vacate their posts for senior leadership of their respective parties.
After the defeat of the opposition in the Senate, he said that it has been proved once again that all opposition parties have no political weight against Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said that no leader of all political parties can match the stature of Imran Khan.
He said that Pakistan is not a monarchy but a democratic country, so the heirs of the political hierarchy cannot ascend the throne. He said change is now being discussed within the PMLN as its activists want to change the Sharif family.
He said a similar debate should also take place within the PPP so that experienced leaders can be brought into the top slots of the party like Bilawal and Maryam if they come through the political process, they had authority but on senior party leaders. There was no reason to impose. , Fawad was of the opinion that opposition parties have no value inside or outside Parliament and all his attempts to start a movement have failed in the past and his seventh attempt will be no different. He said that in the absence of public support, the opposition has to depend on the students of Maulana Fazlur Rehman's madrasas as they had an old habit of using them for political purposes, but an elected government through the madrassa students' movement was not possible to remove.
Chaudhry Fawad said, "We have no personal enmity with Maryam Nawaz and Nawaz Sharif, we want to bring back the property looted from them because people want the national wealth to be brought back." He said that many people meet Nawaz Sharif in expensive apartments, but they still had the audacity to claim that the apartments were not owned by him.
The minister said that Nawaz Sharif's monthly expenditure was crores of rupees but nothing was disclosed about his source of income. He said that looking at the tax returns of Nawaz Sharif, his property was illegal money stolen from the country. He said that the British government had rejected two applications of Nawaz Sharif for visa extension and realizing the situation, the Sharif family started saying that Nawaz Sharif was coming to Pakistan.
"Nawaz Sharif knows he won't get another chance to stay in the UK, he will have to come back," the minister said.
He said that as the opposition parties are not honest with each other and working for their own interests, they may get involved in physical fights in future.
He said attempts to create political chaos in the country had failed and the opposition, which had the upper hand in the Senate, had failed to block legislative bills introduced by the government.
The minister said that it has now been proved that the government enjoys majority support not only in the National Assembly but also in the Senate. Fawad remarked that the PML-N and other opposition parties are in a dilemma as they suffered a humiliating defeat in the Senate on Friday and will face the same fate in future.
The minister said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and the then finance minister Ishaq Dar ruined the country's economy and the present government, which has inherited a small economy, has put it on a revival path.
Fawad Hussain said that today the profit of 100 big companies was Rs 929 billion, due to the prudent policies of Prime Minister Imran Khan, industries including agriculture stood on their feet. He said that the profits of media houses have also increased significantly, some media owners have increased the salaries of their employees, other institutions and companies should also increase the salaries of their employees.
Today, he said that the industrial sector was making profit and agricultural production had increased and farmers had benefited from this development, adding that there was a deep conspiracy behind the sabotage in operations in Balochistan. He expressed solidarity with the families of Pakistani Army personnel who laid down their lives in Balochistan.
