The producers of James Bond have revealed that British actor Idris Elba is "part of talks" to be the next 007,
Addressing speculation about considering Idris Elba, Barbara Broccoli, who, with her brother Michael G. Wilson, has produced the last nine Bond films, said, "Well, we know Idris, we're friends with him. He is a wonderful actor."
Speaking to Deadline's Crew Call podcast, she said, "And, you know, it's been part of the conversation, but it's always difficult to have a conversation when you have someone in your seat.
"I think we've decided that until the time to die is over and Daniel is able to — well, we're all able to taste the benefits of Daniel's wonderful tenure, we're going to be able to do that." I'm not going to think, or talk about anyone else, actors or stories to play, we just want to live in the moment."
Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have produced the last nine Bond films, including Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Specter.
