Lahore: The city received cold and cloudy sky with sporadic rain on Thursday, while the Met office predicted similar weather for the next 24 hours.
Met officials said that a western weather system is very likely to enter western parts of the country today (Friday) and cover most of the upper and central parts on Saturday/Sunday. He predicted that rain-wind/snow (with some heavy falls) is expected over Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, North Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while fog is likely over Upper Sindh and plains of Punjab. Rain was recorded in many cities including Parachinar, Pattan, Malam Jabba, Chitral, Kakul, Balakot, Kalam, Mirkhani, Bannu, DI Khan, Cherat, Takhtbai, Astor, Skardu, Gujarat, Sialkot, Murri, Hafizabad, Jhelum, Islamabad. Snowfall was recorded in Rawalpindi, Mangla, Sargodha, Jauharabad, Gujranwala, Okara, Kot Addu, Kotli, Rawalkot, Garhi Dupatta, Muzaffarabad and Panjgur while Astor and Malam Jabba recorded snowfall.
Leh recorded a minimum temperature of -09 degrees Celsius on Thursday, while it was 8 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 13.1 degrees Celsius in Lahore.
