The Duchess of Cambridge is expected to honor Kate Middleton with another title by appointing British Queen Elizabeth II as the new colonel of the Grenadier Guards.
Kate Middleton will make history if the Queen names her as the first appointed female colonel of the Grenadier Guards to replace Prince Andrew
According to reports, Grenadier Guards officials want the Duchess of Cambridge to replace Prince Andrew as their colonel after the Queen is stripped of HRH and military titles.
If Kate Middleton, who recently celebrated her 40th birthday, is made colonel of the regiment, she will be the first appointed female colonel in the 366-year history of the Grenadier Guards.
The Times quoted a senior Grenadier Guards source as saying: "From straw polling to the ranks, they would all love it to be Kate.
"We all admire the way she fits and behaves, she never seems to go wrong."
The name of the new colonel will be announced soon.
Queen Elizabeth is the Colonel in Chief of the Grenadier Guards.
The Grenadier Guards are the senior most of the five regiments of Foot Guards.
