ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued notice in a contempt of court petition against the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for not investigating the assets of former President General (R) Pervez Musharraf and anti-corruption. A division bench of the Islamabad High Court comprising Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq heard a contempt of court plea against the NAB chairman for not investigating the assets of former President Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf.
During the hearing, the counsel for the petitioner, Lt Col Enamur Rahim, said that the same court had ruled that Pervez Musharraf was a public office holder and that NAB could investigate the matter.
The Chief Justice of the IHC remarked whether the decision of this Court was challenged anywhere. To which the counsel replied that the judgment was not challenged and has now been finalised. They also gave evidence to NAB but no action has been taken till now.
According to Election Commission records, only one account of former President Pervez Musharraf was worth $20 million. The IHC issued notice to the NAB chairman and adjourned the hearing till February 14.
