 Iranian Oscar-winning director Asghar Farhadi in 2017 in the then U.S. President Donald Trump banned travel to the United States from seven majority-Muslim countries, including Iran.

Farhadi is all set to enjoy awards season this time if her shortlisted film "A Hero" makes it to the last five when the Oscar nominations are announced next week.

While promoting his new film from a hotel room in West Hollywood, Farhadi says that, if he is nominated again, the Oscars will be a very different experience.

"It makes me very happy that as an Iranian I am going through this path," Reuters quoted him as saying.

"I know that for Iranian youth, it can create hope ... and it instills a sense of satisfaction in me. It gives a kind of hope to those youths so that they can continue down this path and Iran May bring you some prizes and prizes."

"A Hero", a co-winner of the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, follows a prisoner, Rahim, who along with his fiancée plans to sell a bag of gold coins that he has bought to pay off his debts. found so that he can be released from prison.

He has a sudden change of heart and he manages to find the owner of the coins. But being hailed as a hero creates unexpected complications for the young man who charms those around him.

"The contradiction inside this title is something I really liked," Farhadi said.

"When I first announced it, it was strange to some of my closest friends — but when you put the main character next to the title, the combination of these two takes on a whole new meaning."

Coming into the limelight in 2011 by winning the Golden Bear Award for "A Separation" at the Berlin Film Festival, Farhadi is known for creating simple stories that focus on the challenges of being human.

"We tried to give all the characters in the film a good time for the audience to understand them and understand who they are," he added.

"A Hero" is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
