Queen Elizabeth starts Platinum Jubilee celebrations
Queen Elizabeth will celebrate her Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years as British monarch.
The Royal Family shared an Instagram post on Friday, which read: "To kick-start the celebrations, Her Majesty sent a ton of cards, letters and artwork sent by children and other members of the public to mark this and last, jubilee." View the selection.
According to the statement, "For Golden Jubilee in 2002, 9-year-old Chris sent Her Majesty 'A Recipe for a Perfect Queen'.
The Queen was also shown an autograph fan of Queen Victoria by the Royal Collection Trust.
The Queen was given a fan in 1887 by The Prince and Princess of Wales, later King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, to mark their Golden Jubilee, and is signed by friends and relations of Queen Victoria.
