Astrid Lynae Nordgren's birth certificate will state that she was born on February 6th at 7:55 pm. Her father, Leif Nordegren, will always remember receiving the news on February 7th at 8:55am.

US Biathlon, which announced the birth, said both Astrid and Caitlin are "healthy and happy." The organization also provided a photo of Leaf meeting his daughter for the first time via video call from Zhangjiakou, China, where Olympic athletes in biathlon, cross country skiing and ski jumping are residing.
Leif Nordgren (smaller FaceTime photo) spoke with her daughter, Astrid Lynne Nordgren, around the world on Tuesday. Leaf was in Zhangjiakou, China, while Astrid was in Burlington, VT.
The new father will begin Olympic competition in the men's 20 kilometer individual race from Tuesday.
