Meghan Markle did not walk down the aisle with her father Thomas Markle as she prepares to marry Prince Harry in 2018.
Thomas, who was originally supposed to accompany the daughter on her big day, withdrew from the wedding ceremony due to coronary health problems.
At the time, Meghan announced via a statement on Twitter that her father was sadly "not going to attend our wedding." She also added, "I've always looked after my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health."
During this time, Harry saved the day, pleading with father Prince Charles to do the respect. The story of how it all went down was revealed by Harry himself in the documentary Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70.
"I asked him and I think he knew this was coming and he immediately said, 'Yeah, of course, I'll do whatever Meghan wants and I'm here to support you,'" Harry revealed in the new documentary Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, which airs on BBC One in the UK on Thursday.
"It's a great opportunity for him to step up and have that support, and you know he's our father, so of course he'll be there for us."
Things had already escalated between Meghan Markle and her father after she admitted to accepting money for paparazzi photos before her wedding to the prince.
