Queen Elizabeth II was interrupted by a canine gate-crasher as she saw mementos from her 70-year reign
Queen Elizabeth II was interrupted by a canine gate-crasher as she saw mementos from her reign ahead of the 70th anniversary of her ascension to the throne.
While the monarch inspected memorabilia, including cards and artwork sent by children and other members of the public to congratulate him on the previous anniversary, one of his dogs broke into a room at Windsor Castle.
Candy – a cross between a Dachshund and a corgi, better known as a dorgi – lapped the room and supervised a small group of journalists in hand.
"And where did you come from? I know what you want," chirped the queen as Candy arrived.
Elizabeth has three dogs. Elderly Candy, a young Corgi called Muik, and a Corgi puppy who took the place of another puppy who died unexpectedly last year.
Candy made an appearance at another event earlier this year, when Elizabeth faced a face-to-face audience with outgoing Armed Forces Chief General Nick Carter in November.
