Kate Middleton has played again with Prince Harry in The Rugby Football League (RFL) and is the patron of England Rugby.
The Duchess of Cambridge attended a rugby training session on Wednesday and said she was "excited" to assume the new role.
She said that these are both "fantastic organizations that are committed to bringing communities together and harnessing the power of sport to help individuals thrive."
The Duchess of Cambridge said: "I look forward to working with him at all levels of the game and to delight England in what promises to be an exciting year for both sports."
His statement posted on social media is accompanied by a video in which he is shown playing with several players.
Hundreds of people, including royal expert Angela Levine, couldn't help but admire the Duchess.
Angela Levine, known as a staunch supporter of the British monarchy, commented, "How Catherine swings the rugby ball on one finger. Totally admirable."
