R&B singer's Still Over It track gets an expanded version
Summer Walker has dropped a remix of her sultry single "No Love" with help from Cardi B. The original single, which also features SZA, appears on Walkers Still Over It, released in November.
On the remix, Cardi B — who provided narration on Still Over It's opening track, "Bitter", advising herself on how to stay true to herself — shows her vulnerable side as she takes on the opening verse. "I just wanna be everything you need / I wish you could see how you're hurting me," she sings. "I can't find love anymore, this time, I'm done with her / I'm thinking of ways I can hurt you back."
The track avoids the emotional entanglements in a toxic relationship, choosing to keep things "all lust", with Walker telling his partner on the chorus, "There will be no love."
In the single accompanying video, the actors appear in a variety of celestial settings – floating on a bed in the clouds, posing over a moonscape, dancing in another water scene – looking gorgeous in every frame. Huh.
"Ommmmmggg I'm so excited and nervous!!!," Cardi wrote on Instagram ahead of the track's release. "I've never done that on this record, but I love it! Hope you guys like it too."
Summer walker is slated to join Mary J. Blige, The Roots, Jazmine Sullivan and others at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia, which takes place June 4 and 5.
