Prince Andrew set to accompany the Queen to the Platinum Jubilee Derby

Prince Andrew Wants to Receive Spotlight After Prince Philip Memorial

Prince Andrew is hurried to return to public life.

The 62-year-old Duke of York is reportedly set to take the Queen to the Epsom race in June as part of his Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

A source told the Sun: "He was meant to remain invisible during Platinum Jubilee, so there's no way he'd be involved in events like Trooping the Colour.

“But the Queen needs a mentor on all occasions at this time due to her mobility issues and Andrew is determined to accompany her to Derby.

"He just doesn't understand the public outcry."

Andrew turned heads and left the royals in shock when he accompanied the monarch to father Prince Philip's memorial service.

Despite Prince Charles and William's concerns, the Queen decided to put Andrew in the spotlight.

A Palace insider said: "Both the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge have reluctantly accepted that he (Prince Andrew) will visit the abbey with the Queen as they both live in Windsor."

"It was arguably tastier if just down to logistics, but it goes without saying that most of the family was completely disappointed to see her walk the Queen down the aisle in full view of the entire troupe and broadcast cameras."

Sources close to Andrew say he "still believes he has much more to offer than family and public service".

"Ultimately as this episode shows, it's up to the Queen - and she'll be there if she wants Andrew there."
