Piers Morgan defends music icon Paul McCartney amid criticism
Piers Morgan, who usually sparks reactions with his criticism, has voiced his support for music icon Paul McCartney when the Glastonbury set was criticized for not having 'enough Beatles hits'.
The former Good Morning Britain presenter, who shows no mercy to some of the world's most famous personalities, has taken it upon himself to defend McCartney after the latter's title was set in Glastonbury 2022.
McCartney's Saturday night set was hailed by many as one of the best festivities ever. Mark Beaumont described it in a review of The Independent as "the farthest and best this author has seen on the pyramid platform in Glastonbury in 30 years".
Nevertheless, some social media users criticized the set for not including enough Beatles hits on the set list - prompting the former Good Morning Britain host to weigh in.
Morgan wrote, "Twitter lament Maca' didn't get enough Beatles hits."
"She played 'Can't Buy Me Love', 'Love Me Do', 'I Saw Her Standing There', 'Lady Madonna', 'Blackbird', 'Get Back', 'Something', 'Let It Be' .and 'Hey Jude'.
"Those songs alone are 9 of the greatest pop songs of all time," he said.
Paul McCartney was seen atop a Ukrainian flag as he took to the stage for an encore on his headline set on Saturday.
