Prince William copes with separation from Prince Harry with help from late Philip

Prince William reportedly sought Prince Philip's help in a crucial matter involving Prince Harry in 2019

Prince William reportedly sought help from his late grandfather Prince Philip in 2019 with a crucial matter, which involved Prince Harry breaking away from Kensington Palace to make it his royal home.

According to Express UK, the Duke of Edinburgh, who died last year at the age of 99, was one of William's most trusted guides, who regularly consulted him.

One such occasion went to Prince William Philip for help in 2019, when Prince Harry wanted to split the houses of Cambridge and Sussex after marrying Meghan Markle.

The Daily Mail, at the time, reported that William had called Philip several times over the weeks before it was formally announced by the Queen that Harry and Meghan had been allowed to build a new home.

According to sources close to him, William wanted to make sure his brother Harry would be well supported by Buckingham Palace after moving out. It is believed that Philip calmed his mind on the matter with his advice.

Harry and Meghan then moved away from William and wife Kate Middleton to Frogmore Cottage, fueling speculation about a rift between the brothers. However, these rumors were quelled by Palace sources.

A source close to the royals told the Daily Mail at the time: "It's about putting the two dukes on a permanent pedestal that ensures changes are never needed again [when Charles ascends the throne and William the Prince of Wales]. Wells becomes]."
