Prince William equates himself to future King Charles
A royal expert says Prince William has a problem understanding that he is not the direct heir to the throne.
Robert Jobson wrote in his column for the Daily Mail that the father-son relationship has evolved over the years. However, William still equates himself to the King-in-Waiting.
"Year after year, the personality of this modern prince is slowly emerging. Still, he is an extremely private person who jealously holds most aspects of his personal life," he begins.
"William's relationship with his father has been strained at times. In fact, until the painful consequences of Harry's departure from the royal fold, Prince Charles was much closer to his younger son than to his heir.
"While Harry would talk with his 'pa' for hours, William was the more stand-off.
Mr Jobson says William often forgets his place in the royal pecking order when conversing with Father Charles.
"As a senior former member of the Royal Household explains, William sometimes forgets that there is a hierarchy in which he is below his father.' When it comes to his father, it is as if William thinks That he is the direct heir to the throne, at one level.'
"Another well-established source concurs: 'His vocabulary lacks respect when it comes to his father.'
