Lauren Conrad opens up about her ectopic pregnancy on Instagram


Lauren Conrad recently revealed that she had a miscarriage six years ago due to an ectopic pregnancy on social media.

On Tuesday, the The Hills actress shared about her "heartbreaking experience" in light of the US Supreme Court's decision to reverse Roe v. Wade.

On Instagram Story, the former reality star opened up about her "experience with life-saving fertility care."

"The last few days have been tough. I was searching for the right words, and reposting someone else's words just didn't feel right. I wanted to share my own experience with life-saving fertility care," she wrote .

She told that six years ago she wanted to start her own family but she had an ectopic pregnancy. However, he added, "Because of prompt medical care, doctors saved my fallopian tubes, which allowed me to have two healthy pregnancies."

Conrad continued, "Yesterday I read about a woman whose ectopic pregnancy had ruptured - and was facing death - while awaiting treatment as her doctor was on the phone with her lawyer for losing her medical license. (to use the D&C) as a tool to help establish the diagnosis of an ectopic pregnancy.


She adds that many women have had their own experiences with abortion.

"I am grateful that they were able to safely obtain the health care they needed and were free to make their own decisions," Conrad said.


Adding to this, the Life Happens actress advised people to "discuss abortion rights and listen to each other despite disagreements".

"I hope that someday we will be in a place where every woman will have the health care she needs and the freedom to decide what happens to her body," she concluded.
