Samantha Markle objected to Meghan Markle's handling of defamation lawsuit
Samantha Markle loses in a bid to remove a federal judge in a defamation lawsuit against Meghan Markle's sister, the Duchess.
Samantha, who filed a request to remove the judge, argued that her appointment was made by Barack Obama and friends of Michelle Obama, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Shares Express.co.uk, "the motion states that the judge's "objectivity will be questioned" as he was appointed by the former US president.
The filing said: "The Obama family, Prince Harry and Meghan are 'collaborators' and strong supporters of each other."
The judge wrote in his ruling: "President Obama appointed the undersigned [the judge himself] nearly 13 years ago.
"But the undersigned has never had any social or professional relationship with Obama.
"The undersigned never spoke with a former President or a former First Lady."
Following the verdict, Samantha's attorney Jamie Allen Sasson said: "We believe the judge will be fair and impartial to our client.
"Although we felt it was necessary, being Obama's appointee and how close Meghan and Harry are to the Obama family."
Samantha Markle is suing Meghan for "false and malicious lies" she said in defamatory statements to Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
