BTS fans called out TV host Jimmy Kimmel for his newly racist remarks about the popular K-pop band, BTS, on the latest episode of his talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Just a week after comparing 'BTS fever' to COVID-19, the host interviewing Emily to Ashley Park in Paris has now hinted that the group is as deadly as the Omicron BA.2 version of the virus.
No way did @jimmykimmel and @JimmyKimmelLive just say covid and BTS "are both dangerous" and one is "lucky to come out of it alive."

TIRED of people not seeing the racism of comparing them to Covid bc they see them as "just a boyband" and not people. pic.twitter.com/ZVRrGTxiAi
His early statements included the words, "You know, these variants, all the different variants, remind me of boy bands in the late '90s and early 2000s. You know, you have Backstreet." The Boys were big like NSYNC, and then that turned to O-Town and 98 Degrees.

He continued, "And we popped up the Jonas Brothers, Big Time Rush. They kept splitting up, eventually One Direction. And they took the pieces, and it popped up all over the world, by the end, we were one." Go near what is so contagious that it destroys all life on earth."
As a result, ARMY has taken to social media to express its reservations against the derogatory comments on BTS as the hashtags #JimmyKimmelRacist and #StopAsianHate were trending on Twitter on January 29.
For those unaware, Jimmy Kimmel made a similar joke just last week when guest Ashley Park was talking with members of the group about his experience responding to his cover of Dynamite.
