Capital administration imposed smart lockdown in six sectors


 ISLAMABAD: The capital's district administration on Friday imposed a smart lockdown in six areas, saying that the movement of residents will remain restricted on 23 roads with high Covid-19 positivity rates.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqat issued a notification to seal 23 roads in various sectors of the capital from Saturday (today). He said that we have imposed smart lockdown due to increase in the number of Kovid-19 cases.

The District Magistrate of Islamabad tweeted, “Movement of residents on 23 roads in different areas with high COVID-19 positivity ratio will remain restricted. All roads will be sealed from Saturday (today)."

The exemption in the order includes essential services and supplies such as pharmacies and drug shops, grocery stores and bakeries, medical aid/medical consultation for patients, ration, drinking water supply, utilities and emergencies. The local administration decided to impose the lockdown on the strong recommendations of District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Muhammad Zaim Zia.
