Hollywood actor Channing Tatum recently wore his heart on his sleeve and along with his love for dogs made his dog-inspired directorial debut, which is set to hit theatres.
For those, the actor co-directed the film with American filmmaker Reid Carolyn.
He began his interview with Empire magazine by explaining his inspiration behind the entire project and admitted that it all started when "my dog was dying and so we went on one last road trip together."
Tatum was also quoted as telling the publication, "When I came back, I told the boys in the office about the experience and how emotional it was, and where this story really came from."
“We wanted to make it a good movie though, and have people enjoy the experience of being in the theater, because every time we told people we were making a dog movie, they were like, ‘What The dog dies? I don't want to see the dog die."
A Tom Hanks classic, Turner & Hooch, was another inspiration that helped bring his vision to life. Describing its impact, Tatum explained, "I really enjoyed that movie as a child, it's Tom Hanks and a dog, what's not to like? In terms of starring with a dog, I really enjoyed that movie." Took a lot of inspiration from him."
