The Inspector General of Islamabad Police held a meeting to review the progress of Noor Muqadam's case with reference to Monday's proceedings and media reports. The IGP was told that during the cross-examination of the IO, questions were asked to the IO, to which he answered very briefly as the IO was asked to answer either 'yes' or 'no'. The answer should match the facts of the case file. When asked whether the trousers of the accused were stained with blood, the IO replied in the 'no'. But he explained that it was not so, but according to the PFSA report, he was colored with the blood of the victim, Noor Mukadam. The IO, when asked, denied whether any fingerprints were found on the knife, the weapon of the crime, but stated that the knife recovered from the crime scene was taken into custody, sealed by the NFSA and traced to the fingerprints. sent to PFSA, which could not be developed. Noor Mukadam's DNA was found on Zaheer's shirt. Noor was murdered with a Swiss knife recovered from the scene. Sources said that Noor's DNA was found on the blade and handle of the Swiss knife. Noor was also attacked with a knuckle punch recovered from the crime scene. He told that Noor's DNA i.e. blood has been found on the punch of the finger. “All these forensic evidences were professionally collected from the crime scene and sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency. These are very strong pieces of forensic evidence and the investigation team is committed to bring justice to Noor Muqadam,” the IGP concluded in the meeting. The IGP directed the officers to follow up the matter in the best possible manner and they should be informed in this regard regularly.
