Famed socialite Paris Hilton recently took a trip down memory lane and reminisced about her decision to come forward about the abuse she suffered during her time at boarding school.
For those wondering, about a year ago the reality TV star and entrepreneur testified against his boarding school in Utah and penned a picture of all the horrific abuse that happened during his time at the institution.
In the present, she has decided to investigate the "dark secrets and controversial practices" that occurred in a new podcast titled Trapped in Treatment.
Discussing her initial decision, Hilton told Fox News, "It was so painful and painful that I didn't want to think about it, but it always was."
"I'm so grateful to have done my [2020] documentary 'This Is Paris' and talked about it because it just made such an impact and such a difference."
The documentary that provided early horror information inspired other child stars such as Michael Jackson's daughter Paris Jackson and tattoo artist Kat Von D to address their own experiences.
Hilton also admitted during her interview with the publication, "So many survivors have reached out to me about how healing it was for them."
"And now it's already changed the laws in seven states so that everything that happened to me is illegal and now it's pushed to the federal level, so it's going to be the same in all 50 states ... I think I have done this in my life. There are many things that I am proud of, but so far this is what I am most proud of."
"I'm going to keep using my voice," Hilton said before concluding, "and so I'm very excited for my new podcast 'Trapped in Treatment,' because it's really going to shed light on this and survive." A platform for people to tell their stories. The more people know about it, the more chance we have to stop it."
