Kabul: The Islamic Emirate says that the practical work of the TAPI project will start in the near future and all preparatory work has been prepared for its implementation.
Islamic Emirate's deputy spokesman, Bilal Karimi, said work on the security and financial areas of the project had been partially completed and practical work on the project would begin as soon as the weather warms up. "The TAPI project should be well implemented, and the Islamic Emirate is well prepared for its financial share. Its technical and logistical problems have been resolved from our side." Economists said that the implementation of the TAPI project will provide employment opportunities to about 12,000 people in Afghanistan.
“TAPI project is one of the biggest projects in the entire region, we are very sorry that we have not been able to take up this project in the last few years. We all know it has huge benefits for the people of Afghanistan,” said economist Mansoor Hedayat. "The Islamic Emirate is now taking control of the situation in Afghanistan, the barriers have been removed and it is expected to play a key role in this project by using all necessary means," said Shakir Yakubi, an economist.
Afghanistan is part of the Turkmen gas pipeline project for Pakistan and India, and it is expected that Afghanistan will earn about $400 million per year for allowing transit over its territory. Turkmen officials expressed optimism about the project's future after meeting with Amir Khan Muttaki, the head of the Islamic Emirate's foreign ministry, three weeks ago.
