Janet Jackson was 'invited' to the Grammys after the Justin Timberlake scandal

Janet Jackson claims she was boycotted from the 2004 Grammys following her wardrobe malfunction scandal with Justin Timberlake.

In her eponymous documentary, Janet Set, to be released this week, the singer revealed that she was asked not to attend the Grammy Awards after Timberlake accidentally snatched her during a Super Bowl performance.

Janet's ex-boyfriend Jermaine Dupri also said that she quit her role as a member of the Grammy board after learning of the injustice. Janet and Dupree dated from 2002 to 2009.

"I felt like they were disrespectful to Janet, and I resigned at that point,"

Earlier, The Huffington Post reported: "Timberlake was given permission to perform after shedding tears for the incident.

"The chief executive of CBS, according to sources who spoke to me, was outraged that Jackson did not apologize to him in a similar manner."
