KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted gusty winds of up to 55 km in Karachi on Wednesday, which may make the weather dusty and comparatively cold, while advising preventive measures.
“A pressure gradient due to a Western Disturbance affecting Central and North Pakistan is likely to result in gusty winds over Karachi from Wednesday afternoon/afternoon to Thursday morning. The wind speed can go up to 55 kms in time,” Chief Meteorological Officer (CMO) Sindh Sardar Sarfaraz told The News on Tuesday.
An alert issued by the Met Office said that strong winds gusting up to 30 knots gusting to 20-25 knots are very likely over West/South Balochistan and Karachi from February 2 afternoon to Thursday afternoon, causing loose formations. damage may occur.
