Wide Receiver Logan Scott is a Prospect to Watch

With an outstanding performance in front of scouts, Logan Scott earned the right to recruit potential college coaches.

The 7on7 circuit recently took off as a recruiting tool for college coaches, and it hasn't taken off as the DRSportz tournament begins Saturday morning in Davenport, Fla. About 70 teams came to the Orlando suburb, of which 25 teams were in the high school age group. The program was spearheaded by national recruits such as Kam Davis, Troy Ford, Jr., Jaylen Mbkwe, and others. However, the first day was dominated by players who are still on the radar.

Logan Scott was arguably the biggest eye-catcher of the day, receiving three touchdowns in a single game that seemed routine to him. Scott showed his ability to break up defenders along a crisp route, including the ability to quickly break free from the line of scrimmage against press coverage. Once in his path, he also did well to intercept defensive backs and create isolation before catching the football with his body. He also made plays at the most important place on the field.

With Scott going over the top of defenders to catch jumped balls in the endzone, it just shows how dynamic he can be. Standing at 5'11" and 150 pounds, Scott will need to work on his weight before going to the next level. Even at his current weight, he never lets himself lose sight of press coverage.

After catching up with Scott after the game, he's actually transferring and attending his final year of high school at Somerset Academy in Pembroke Pines, Fla. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., but the full-stacked receiving room there gave him little opportunity to showcase his talents. As well as giving him the opportunity to team up with his quarterback for Team Go Get It, Camden Hartzel, 2025 would be a class of possibility. They already showed amazing chemistry with each other, so being on the same high school team makes sense.

Team Go Get It finished the tournament with four wins and two losses, including a 28 to 16 victory over Team Tampa U18. They advanced to the round of 16 before losing to Team Tampa by a score of 29 to 13. Scott was named by most of the media as one of the breakout players of the tournament. The team has produced some talent with West Virginia University signer Jacobi Spell, a wide receiver/defensive back, previously performing for them. They will certainly be a team to watch as the 2022 tournament circuit moves into the spring and summer.

Scott did well on the seven-to-seven circuit in 2021, but a lack of playing time during his junior year hurt his recruit. However, from the limited amount of film he produced, as well as scouts seeing him perform in person, there is no doubt that he would be a contributor to an FBS team.
