Lizzo Applauds Miley Cyrus's Iconic Dance in Her TED Talk
Lizzo shared that Miley Cyrus 'loved' her TED talk in which she referred to the Wrecking Ball hit-maker's iconic dance move at the 2013 VMAs.
The Truth Hurts singer appeared to be influenced by Cyrus as she revived a dance step that had been 'forgotten' despite being deeply rooted in black culture.
The Good As Hell song-producer recently teamed up with the People for Women Changing World issue to reveal that the Hannah Montana alum thanked her after the famous conversation.
"I mention Miley Cyrus in my TED talk. And how I mention her, I'm very delicate because at the end of the day, I can't seem to talk about the way I was talking. Prejudice was not wanted. Mainstream," she spread at the outlet.
"Messenger is like how this thing spread like she did - seeing her at the VMAs. And I saw her recently and she was like, 'I saw your TED talk and I really liked it. Thanks for that' ”, he observed again.
The 33-year-old singer also expressed coming from a proud black family, "I grew up in a family that was very proud of our blackness."
"He taught me at a very young age how America treats black people. This is how it treats black women. And I saw very early on how we treat fat people," she said.
