Prince William and Kate Extend Support for Ukraine
Prince William and Kate Middleton pledge to stay behind Ukraine in new public appearance.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Holland Park in west London this week to talk to volunteers about the ongoing crisis.
William acknowledged that the war was unusual for the British, who often saw conflict in Africa and Asia, not Europe.
"It's so exotic to see this in Europe. We're all behind you," he said. "We feel so worthless," the couple said, embarrassed for not being able to help more.
The couple dressed in yellow and blue for the day to show solidarity with Ukrainians. Homemade brownies were also taken away for the volunteers.
William went on to say how his children, Princess George and Princess Charlotte, are equally concerned about the war.
"Coming to our house and asking about it," the Duke says of his children. "They're obviously talking about it with their friends at school."
The Duke revealed that he is struggling to tell his children about the ongoing crisis in a way that doesn't affect their mental health. "He had to choose my words carefully to explain what was happening," William revealed.
The couple also met Ukraine's ambassador Vadim Pristyko and his wife Inna during their visit.
William and Kate share their fears that Vladimir Putin will prevent World War III if their progress in Ukraine is not stopped in time.
William said: "The irony is that it brings Europe closer. Because of Ukraine, Europe is closer than ever."
"We've already seen a lot of that Ukrainian spirit," he told them. "Keep together. Everyone is there for you."
