Jennifer Aniston talks insomnia problem: 'Super sleep deprived'

Jennifer Aniston is opening up about her sleep problems

Jennifer Aniston is spreading awareness about sleep disorders through her personal experiences.

The Friends alum admitted that she's struggled with sleepwalking and sleep anxiety over the years, which has brought her to a point where she can't sleep at all.

"I think it started somewhere before my 30s or so, but when we're younger you don't start to notice the effects of sleep deprivation because we're so invincible," Aniston says. "It started out as something I'll just admit and then all of a sudden you realize the effects of your lack of sleep and how it affects your day and your work and your brain function and your body. "

"And the more I worry about it, the harder it is to fall asleep," she says.

Aniston admitted that she slept-walked a few days earlier.

"I've been known to do this. I'm woken up by house alarms that I've turned off. And I don't think I do anymore — that was when I was super sleep-deprived," she says , adding that "at least that's the silver lining" for her sleep problems.

The actress admitted that she kept her sleep secondary to her work for years.

"It became something I was really struggling with," she says. "It used to be the last thing on the list, but you can't really follow the three pillars of health—which are diet, exercise, and sleep—if you really can't exercise and you really can't eat right." If you haven't slept well because your body clock has completely stopped."

Aniston is now consulting a doctor for treatment to help with her sleep problems.
