Ghislaine Maxwell brother reveals Rani is disappointed with sex scandal
The Ghislaine Maxwell brother says Prince Andrew struck an out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre to avoid causing further pain to the Queen.
Ian Maxwell tells Jay Beecher that the truth about the Duke of York's sex scandal will never come out because the payment has already been processed.
"I guess we'll never really know because it's Prince Andrew and it's all blown away. Although it's his mother's jubilee year, he's a dutiful son. It really hurt him, it's clear That it would be any mother.
"It hurts her a lot.
"He's just extraordinarily embarrassed. He doesn't want to do anything to upset the year.
"I think he had to fold his tent, really and by the Crown as best he could."
Mr Maxwell, age 66, continued: "Do I think he went to the other side and gave evidence?
"I don't know, I think it would have been very difficult for him to give this proof.
"We have that example of performance with Emily Maitlis in 2019, so she's not good in that position, and then a court where she's fighting for her life, I think it would have been very difficult.
"However, I also think it would have been as difficult for Giuffre as it would have been for him, to create the core of the infamous photograph in London, where the events allegedly took place, she says, and that she presents it." She could never make that particular photo.
"At one level I think it suited both sides that ultimately it went the way it went."
Mr Maxwell said: "I think he is a very high profile target, but we just don't know.
"I think it's interesting that he ended up paying a very large sum of money to his non-profit and that's unusual."
Andrew was accused of sexually assaulting Mr Giuffre at the age of 17. The prince was later allegedly smuggled in by Ghislaine Maxwell, a close confidant of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
