Meghan Markle will no longer support animal welfare charities

Meghan Markle announced on Thursday that her patronage to an animal welfare charity has ended

As Express UK reports, Meghan Markle's announcement that her patronage to an animal welfare charity appears to be the latest example of a split from the royal family.

The news about UK-based animal welfare charity Mayu ending conservation was confirmed in a Twitter post from the charity on Thursday.

Mayhew shared on Twitter that it was "an incredible privilege" to have Markle on board since 2019, which included Markle.

The Duchess of Sussex said in a statement of her separation: "While my time as Mayhew's patriarch has come to a close, I do not have unwavering support."

She continued: "I encourage each of you to support yourself in whatever way you are able. The emotional support of a rescue animal is unique – as you will soon realize: it is not you who gives them save, it is they who save you."

“To the Mayoo community, thank you for assigning me as your mentor. It is an honor,” concluded Markle.

The move comes two years after Markle and her husband Prince Harry announced their exit from the royal family, an event that has come to be known as 'Megxit'.
