Olivia Rodrigo was crowned Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards
Olivia Rodrigo was crowned Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, according to Reuters.
The singer missed a chance to win a rare win in the top four awards of the music industry.
The 19-year-old, who performed her signature hit while perched on the hood of a white Mercedes on the Grammys stage, won Savatee, Glass Animals and others accolades for the newcomer at a televised ceremony in Las Vegas.
"It's my biggest dream come true. Thank you so much!" He said that as he held his trophy.
Rodrigo was nominated for four Grammys: Best New Artist and Song, Record and Album of the Year.
But when Song of the Year went to Silk Sonic's 1970s-inspired R&B song "Leave the Door Open," it lost out to at least one of those categories. The duo, Bruno Mars and Anderson.Pak, performed a hit on stage to open the awards show and returned a few minutes later to accept their trophy.
