The Weeknd took to Twitter to share his plans with fans
The Weeknd is eager to follow in Kanye West's footsteps as the singer hints at his plans to legally change his name.
Taking to Twitter, Blinding Lights singer, Abel Tesfaye posted a string of tweets on April 3, as did her fans about considering dropping a last name like West.
"You guys are kidding. I feel like I should change my stage name to ABEL at this point."

He continued, "Maybe pull a YE and legally change my name to ABEL. No last name. Like Madonna or Cher or Prince. I don't know if that sounds like a lot."

John Legend shouts to approve his new name. He tweeted from his handle, "ABEL is dope."

The Donda 2 rapper changed his name to Ye in 2018 and last year the court made it official.
