Dakota Johnson talks about 'Crazy' shoot of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' in latest interview
Dakota Johnson opens up about the making of Fifty Shades of Grey as she calls the shoot 'something crazy'.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, the Persuasion star detailed how Charlie Hunnam, who was originally cast to play Christian Grey, went behind the scenes on the post-shoot.
Johnson said the film's writer and screenwriter E.L. James was "so furious" after Hunnam left that he scrapped the original script.
"It just went some crazy," Johnson told the outlet. "There were many different disagreements."
"I've never been able to speak truthfully about this, because you want to promote a movie in the right way, and I'm so proud of what we finally made and everything turned out the way it needed to." But it was difficult," he added.
"[James] had a lot of creative control all day, every day, and he just demanded that certain things happen." Johnson continued. “It was always a fight. Always … we would do the takes of the film that [James] wanted to make, and then we would also do the takes of the film that we wanted to make… It was like catastrophe all the time.”
The 32-year-old actor continued, "If I had known at the time what it was going to be like, I don't think anyone would have done it. It would have been, 'Oh, this is mental.'"
However, the actor said that he does not regret doing films, adding, "I don't think it's a regret."
