Shakira 'going through tough times' after split from Gerard Pique
Shakira is upset as she is going through a 'difficult' phase in life after splitting from Gerard Pique after their 12-year long relationship.
Singer Carlos Vives, with whom the Waka Waka hit-producer collaborated on the song La Bisicleta, revealed the singer's state of mind in a recent interview.
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Cadena 100 Music radio station, Vivek spoke about Shakira's breakup, saying, "I asked her and she replied to me saying she was sad."
"She's going through a very difficult time," he continued, "she has to grieve; I've been through it too."
"I'm definitely sad; it's a very difficult time and it's nice when you have such a beautiful family..." Vives continued.
Earlier, Shakira's sister Roberto Garcia's ex-boyfriend had told Esdiario that Shakira and Pique had split due to monetary issues.
"According to what a person very close to me has told me, there is a financial problem between the two of them," Garcia told the outlet.
"It is believed that PK may have asked Shakira for money for investment and the singer's family has refused to give it," he added. "They don't mix their money and they keep the family economy at 50%."
