Gloria Estefan takes a dig at Jennifer Lopez over Super Bowl comments

Jennifer Lopez says sharing stage with Shakira at 2020 Super Bowl was 'worst idea'

Gloria Estefan took a dig at Jennifer Lopez for her recent comment on sharing the stage with Shakira at the 2020 Super Bowl.

During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the Cuban-American singer-actor revealed that she was offered to join the ladies on stage.

Estefan, who declined to perform with JLo and the Waka Waka singer, said, "Look, that's the bottom line. You have very little time, like 12 minutes or something, to get things on set. And to close."

“So, can you do it with one person? Yes, but I think they wanted to throw a Miami and Latin extravaganza and they tried to pack as much of it as possible,” she said.

She continued, throwing shade at Lopez for her complaints at the performance, "Okay, and imagine what J.Lo would say if I were the third (performer)!"

"I would literally come out, 'Shake Your Body' ['Kanga'] and out. It was their moment. Plus, I didn't want to go on a diet in December," Estefan said.

In her Netflix documentary Halftime, Lopez said, "We have six (excitative) minutes. We should have our singing moments. It's not going to be a dance (controversial) retrospective. We have to sing our message."

"It's the worst idea in the world to have two people do the Super Bowl. It was the worst idea in the world," JLo said.
