Prince Charles is rallying for the history of the slave trade of Africans to be taught to students in Britain
As The Independent reports, Prince Charles is rallying students in Britain for the history of the transatlantic slave trade of Africans widely taught as the Holocaust.
According to the outlet, the Prince of Wales, a royal source close to the future monarch, revealed that he wants to bridge the gap in Britain's knowledge of the abhorrent history of African people smuggling.
The sorce added: "Charles notes that nationally, we know and learn all we can about the Holocaust in school. This is not true of the transatlantic slave trade."
The insider continued: "There's an acknowledgment that it needs to happen."
The source added that while Prince Charles does not intend to reshape education policy, he wants the public to be better educated about that particular history.
The remarks came after Prince Charles expressed grief over the suffering caused by the slave trade during his inaugural address at the Commonwealth Summit in Rwanda.
