Kate Middleton's inner magic missing in Cambridgeshire portrait with William
Kate Middleton is facing criticism for her new portrait of husband Prince William.
The painting, unveiled in Cambridgeshire this week, shows the Duchess in a green gown with William in a black tuxedo.
Speaking about the piece of art, critic Ann Wilson of The Daily Mail dubbed the future queen a 'boring doll'.
He added: "Kate looks like a 'strangely boring doll' because the picture doesn't show her 'inner magic'.
"The real Duchess of Cambridge delights everyone with her radiant smile.
"Although the figure in this painting is awe-inspiring, a bit petulant and not really recognizable as our Kate."
Meanwhile, in The Times Rachel Campbell-Johnston referred to husband and wife as 'mannequins' in the artwork.
She said: "Here's a swagger portrait for the modern monarchy.
"They can't look too flashy. They shouldn't be wearing too flashy clothes.
“The couple pose like mannequins made to advertise a modern monarchy.
"But if you want to see them in replica you're probably better off going to Madame Tussauds."
