Royal fans react to the first official joint portrait of Kate Middleton and Prince William at the Fitzwilliam Museum

Kate Middleton looks ethereal in a stunning £1,595 emerald gown

The first official joint portrait of Prince William and Kate Middleton has been unveiled at the Fitzwilliam Museum at the University of Cambridge.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were all smiles as they arrived at the museum to view a self-painted portrait of themselves as it was revealed to the public for the first time.

Kate looks ethereal in a stunning £1,595 emerald gown from The Vampire's Wife, which the Duchess first rocked during a historic three-day visit to Dublin in March 2020.

The couple's first official joint artwork presents the Duchess with her arm wrapped around a dapper William, wearing a sharp suit with a blue tie.

Royal fans couldn't wait and reacted with delight on social media to a new portrait of their favorite royal couple, with one @loveforcambridg tweeting: "I love our Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first joint portrait by British artist Jamie Koreth Love the picture. It's absolutely beautiful and powerful!! Pure perfection."

Another commented with the handle @Suzanne_Brmptn: "Oh wow, that's absolutely amazing."

Another, @llaviedenina wrote: "A perfect portrait of a future king and queen!"

The portrait, which was painted by award-winning British artist Jamie Koreth, was unveiled to mark the couple's visit to Cambridgeshire to celebrate the county.

Kate Middleton looked smashing in a long light blue coat teamed with stilettos and clutch bag when she accompanied her husband William to the Fitzwilliam Museum to see the picture.
