Famous Korean Celebrities Award at New York Asian Film Festival

The New York Asian Film Festival has opened its 22nd anniversary edition of the film at Lincoln Center.


The New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) 2022 began in New York City on July 15 and will run through July 31.

Korean actors Jang Hyuk, Kim Hye-eun and Seung-ryong Ryu are among celebrities being recognized for their tour-de-force performances in films presented at the festival.

Actor Jang Hyuk won the Daniel A. Award for Excellence in Action Cinema for his films 'The Killer' and 'The Swordsman'. Craft Award. Jang Hyuk attended the US premiere of "The Killer" in Los Angeles on June 21, and it later hit screens on July 13, 2022. Both films are directed by Choi Jae Hyun, who also attended screenings with the actor in July. 19 in the festival.

Actress Kim Hye-eun won the 2022 Screen International Rising Star Asia Award for her lead role in director Park Ri Wooong's "The Girl on a Bulldozer" and is set to attend its screening on July 25.

Meanwhile actor Seung-ryong Ryu received his first-ever Best Award from the East Award, a distinction to honor a singularly outstanding performance in a film for actor-turned-director Cho Eun Ji's 'Maybe Love'. Both the actor and the director will attend the screening of the film on July 26.

NYAFF is set to host various international stars and acclaimed filmmakers to recognize the best Asian talent in theatrical arts.
