Meghan Markle claims slammed by royal writer during Oprah show

Tom Bower rubbishes Meghan Markle's claims of marrying Prince Harry ahead of Oprah's public royal wedding

Meghan Markle's claims of marrying Prince Harry three days before their public royal wedding in 2018 has been slammed by royal writer Tom Bower, speaking to Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

Speaking about Meghan's comments during an explosive tell-all with Oprah in her latest book, Revenge: The War Between Meghan, Harry and the Windsor, Bower said her claims were more of a 'sham'.

Bower cited Meghan's conversation with Oprah, in which she said: "You know, three days before our wedding, we got married. Nobody knows that."

In his book, Bower commented: "In Meghan's version they were married privately at Kensington Palace before the big day in Windsor."

"'So, like, the vows we made in our rooms are the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury.' The Windsor ceremony, broadcast globally, was a sham to Meghan,” Bower said.

He continued: "What Meghan imagined she might have gained from that crude invention is not explained. She probably believed that, like in California, marriage certificates remain secret and only before a judge. May be available to the public only upon express order.
