Bilawal vows to save Katchi Abadis in Sindh

 


Sukkur: Pakistan Peoples Party President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that he will save the untouched population across Sindh and give property rights to the residents there.

It is sad that we are facing difficulties in regularizing the population of Gurjar Nala, but there is no impediment in the regularization of Bani Gala, the PPP President said at a ceremony to hand over the lease documents to 150 people in the first phase of the project. The PPP president said the first thing the current prime minister did after being elected was to regularize his Bani Gala house. “We had hoped that when the Prime Minister is regularizing his house, the same policy will be applicable to the slums across the country as well.

"Instead, one slum after another was demolished," he said. He said that the Pakistan People's Party never opposed the allocation of plots to judges and bureaucracy. He appreciated the people of Larkana who had formed organizations and started a movement to save their homes, and said that this movement is successful and a new journey is starting from today.

The ownership rights would be given to the slum dwellers in Sindh, where they have been living for the last 40 years, he said, adding that the work to save the slums would be expedited from February.
